How to improve font rendering with your installed fonts

Note-This method works on a per-user bases
1. Create a file
gedit .fonts.conf
with code:
<match target="font"> <edit name="autohint" mode="assign"> <bool>true</bool> </edit> <edit name="hinting" mode="assign"> <bool>true</bool> </edit> <edit mode="assign" name="hintstyle"> <const>hintslight</const> </edit> </match>
Save changes in the file.
2. Create backup a .Xresources file:
cp .Xresources Xresources.bak
3. Open .Xresources file in text editor.
gedit .Xresources
Delete current content, paste in:
! Xft settings --------------------------------------------------------------- Xft.dpi: 96 Xft.antialias: true Xft.rgba: rgb Xft.hinting: true Xft.hintstyle: hintslight[/code]
Save changes in the file.
4.Run a command in terminal:
xrdb -merge ~/.Xresources
5.Make sure that antialiasing, hiting is ON in system settings Your Desktop Environment.
Finally reboot your computer to apply the settings.
